A suicide attack rocked Bagram district in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan this afternoon targeting a convoy of the foreign forces.
According to the local officials, the incident took place after a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle packed with explosives into the convoy of the American forces.
District administrative chief Abdul Shakoor Qudosi confirmed the incident and said preliminary reports indicate a number of civilians have sustained injuries in the attack.
He said there are no reports regarding the possible casualties of the American forces as there are fears that some of them have also sustained minor injuries.
In the meantime, another security official confirmed that three civilians were wounded in the attack and added that there are reports that two foreign soldiers have sustained injuries.
The Taliban group claimed responsibility behind the incident and claimed that dozens of American soldiers were killed or wounded in the attack.
This is not the first time the Taliban group claim of inflicting heavy casualties in attacks on Afghan or foreign forces as numerous such claims have proven to be false in the past.
This was the second attack in Bagram district in less than a week period and following the controversial air drop of the offensive anti-Taliban leaflets by the American forces.
